Week 7 in Quarantine:How are you coping with quarantine?

With everything that is going on and no signs of this shelter in place lifting, I just wanted to check on you all and see how you were holding up? For some, this may be a tough time or it may be the time of your life.  Not gonna lie, this whole quarantine thing sucks and I’m still trying to adjust to the “new normal” myself.  I have my days where I'm down and discouraged because of the unknown, but other days I deal with the cards I’m dealt with and just try to keep pushing forward.

What I found to be super helpful is establishing a daily routine for myself and writing out a to-do list the night before. Some of the tasks I might write down to do for the next day may consist of: knocking out graphic projects for clients, blogging, trying out new natural hairstyle (let me tell you, sometimes it's hard being natural because I hardly ever feel like doing my hair now and days), and do at least one things I've been meaning to get around to but never did due to time. Just last week I finally got around to getting rid of the billion of clothes I have laying around in my closet but hardly ever wear ( R.I.P. to my bank account because I am shopaholic lol 😅🙂🙃).

But having said that, I also plan leisure activities in my daily routine. Some may see it as being productive but I really find inner peace when work out. I do it at least twice a day... Some exercises may be intense like running the entire neighborhood and doing live workouts on Instagram (SHOUT OUT TO MY GYM EFFECT FITNESS 💙)  or some might be super minimal like spending time with pups by walking them outside to get some fresh air (even though I am kinda obligated to because I have a HYPER-ACTIVE Siberian Husky who will harass me if I don't lol 🙄🐶).

Other things I might do is check on my family members or friends whether it's a facetime call or text (sorry to my besties for blowing up your phone literally every day...love you 😊 ).  OR my favorite, lighting a scented candle (preferably eucalyptus and mint), grabbing my favorite snack, and binge watch tv shows like The Originals (5 seasons of 22 episodes, 45 mins long...you can thank me later) and Insecure.

Make time for yourself. There is no set way of coping with this pandemic. If you want to spend time with your family, relax, and cater to yourself, so what?! DO IT.  If you want to keep yourself busy and distract yourself from reality (like myself) and be productive GO FOR IT. There is no right or wrong. Just do what ultimately makes your soul happy and keeps your state of mind at peace.✨
So what's up with you? Let’s talk, what are you doing to cope with quarantine, maybe you can give me some tips. Drop the comments below! 👇🏽
